What is TRUTH Social?

Chapter 1

TRUTH Social is President Trump’s free speech social media platform.

It is also a graveyard for liberal tears. 

At least for those that hate the First Amendment and are intoxicated with the Fake News.

In this chapter, I’ll cover a brief history and stats of the platform, and then we can get into the advertising aspect of TRUTH.

Who owns TRUTH Social?

TRUTH Social is owned by Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG). TMTG is a technology company rooted in digital platforms for social media and streaming. They are also actively building TMTG+ which will feature news, non-woke entertainment, sports, documentaries, podcasts and more.

Are TRUTH Social and Rumble related?

TRUTH Social and Rumble are different entities. 

However, TRUTH Social uses Rumble’s cloud services as well as its ad platform.

By learning how to advertise on TRUTH, you will also learn how to advertise on Rumble as the campaigns are created in Rumble’s ad platform.

How many users does
TRUTH Social have?

@realDonaldTrump himself has 4.86M followers as of this post on February 2023. The Fake News out there report that as of September 2022, there were 1.7 million users. However, TRUTH Social became available on the Google Play Store on October 12, 2022. With the addition of Android users, Trump’s ever-growing popularity, and the decay of Twitter, I estimate there are 3 to 4 million free Americans on TRUTH Social. TRUTH Social is so good, even wanna-be dictator Newsom had to join. Make sure you stop by and say hello to @realgovnewsom40.

Why Should You Advertise On TRUTH Social?

Simply put, your brand can reach millions of Patriots. We also get to strengthen the Patriot Economy, as John Fredericks calls it. These are my top 5 reasons why you should start advertising on TRUTH Social.

1. Patriots support other patriots

According to a research report from PR firm 5W Public Relations cited on PublicSq.com, “71% of Americans prefer buying from companies that align with their values, including 83% of Millennials. 2. Fund Freedom, Defund The Zuckerbucks

By simply engaging with the app, you are contributing to its growth and its impact on America First economies. TRUTH Social, GETTR, Gab, Rumble, PublicSq, MyStore, FreeSpoke, and many others. They all need us. I am a firm believer that when these new tech companies grow, they will continue recruiting the best American talent and continue improving over time. We also get to continue devaluating the Zuckerbucks by not giving them our engagement or data. Remember the $400M they poured into election offices? TRUTH Social is like the dream audience you would want to pull out of Facebook or Twitter if you wanted to advertise to freedom-loving Americans. 

From political campaigns to clothing, restaurants, home insurance, or even local home services. 

TRUTH’s audience ready to learn more about your business.

4. Early Adopter

Sure there are some growing pains, but there is also a blue ocean of opportunity. 

By getting into TRUTH Social early, you get to compete in a much less saturated space.

You can also potentially be the first in your industry in your specific location.

5. Results Matter

I’m not just advocating for TRUTH Social, I’m also advocating for your bottom line.

Although measuring can be challenging, I will demonstrate how to analyze your campaign performance in Chapter 6.

So where do the ads actually show and what do they look like?

Depending on your selection, your ads can appear on Desktop or Mobile devices in both TRUTH Social and Rumble.

Rumble has mobile and desktop ad placements as well as pre-roll capabilities.

Your ads can also be displayed below the video and on the right column, above the suggested videos.

Creating Your First Campaign

Chapter 4

To start advertising on TRUTH Social, you need to create an account on ads.rumble.com.

Add a (pre)Payment method

You need to fund your account before ads can run.

To do so, go to Wallet and add your preferred Payment Method.

You can do this step last if you wish, just know that you need to add funds before setting your campaign live.

Creating Your First Campaign

Step 1: Choose Campaign Type

Go to Advertisers > New Campaign, and select if you will be uploading Display or Video ads.

For the purpose of this article, we will demonstrate how to create Display campaigns on TRUTH & Rumble. For Rumble Video Ads, visit this article instead.

Click Next once ready.

Step 2: Enter Campaign Name

Under the General section, you need to enter a Campaign Name, and assign it a Label.

I recommend naming conventions that you can quickly identify and that match your campaign’s objective, but feel free to choose whatever describes your efforts best.

 Here’s an example of mine:

Step 3: Placements

Select where you want your ads to show by choosing one Ad Type from the following dimensions:

  • 336 x 280
  • 822 x 175
  • 800 x 450
  • 1600 x 900
  • 420 x 315
I recommend designing your creative(s) beforehand so that once you reach Step 3, you know exactly what creative you are using. These dimensions will also determine the Zone (Step 5) where you will be able to advertise.
 
Your campaign can have different ads, but they must all be the same Ad Type.
 

Step 4: White/Black List (Optional)

This setting provides you with further control should you want to include (whitelist) or exclude (blacklist) a particular zone.
 
This brings us to…
 

Step 5: Zones

There are 15 Zones you can advertise on, but remember, it’s only one Ad Type (dimension) per campaign.

Step 6: Bidding

  • Set your CPM (Cost per thousand impressions)
    • We recommend you bid between $3 and $10 for the more competitive zones.
  • Set your Daily Budget
  •  Spread Daily Budget toggle
    • When enabled, your daily budget will be spread evenly throughout the day or throughout your selected schedule.
  • Set a total spend limit if you would like to put a cap on your campaign.
  • Bid Type: I recommend “Flat Rate” given that the “Smart” bidding is not necessarily optimized for conversions.
  • Frequency Capping: This allows you to limit the number of views per user in any given period.
    • E.g., A user can only view your ad 3 times every 24 hours.

Step 7: Targeting

You can target by connection type, keywords (Rumble only), countries, regions (states), cities, carriers, languages, operating systems, and devices.

Step 8: Scheduling

Set the schedule you would like to run your campaign on.

In the name of efficiency and protecting your advertising dollars, it is not recommended to run ads 24/7.  

Creatives & Landers

Chapter 5

In this step, you get to select the creatives your campaign will be displaying and the landing page you will assign to each creative.

One of my favorite features on TRUTH Social and Rumble Ads is the ability to set a “weight” to each creative.

This allows for easy A/B testing, which can also help you easily analyze performance.

Adding Creatives

Rumble Ads has an Ad Library that comes in very handy when you are creating multiple campaigns, whether simultaneously or over time.

If it’s a video campaign, you may upload an .mp4 file or link a VAST.

If you are creating a display campaign, then you can upload the compatible image sizes that you chose during the Placements selection.

Assigning a Lander & Weight

A lander refers to the web page a user will be visiting once they click your ad. I highly recommend the use of UTM parameters so you can later identify your performance per campaign and creative. This is a quick and free tool you may use to create UTMs: https://ga-dev-tools.web.app/campaign-url-builder/ TRUTH Social / Rumble Ads creative and landers examples. In the example above, both creatives go to the same landing page, but each one has different UTM parameter in order to identify them within our Google Analytics. As you can see, each creative also has a weight, split at 50% each. Had I added a third creative and I wanted to split them evenly, then each creative would have had a 33.33% weight.

Analyzing Performance

Chapter 6

Every digital advertising campaign must be measured.

Otherwise, how do you know if you are winning or losing?

So ask yourself, what is your primary objective and how will you measure success?

Analyzing Performance on Rumble's Reporting Dashboard

As of February 2023, Rumble does not have a tracking pixel and therefore you are unable to track conversions through its dashboard.

We are confident the reporting capabilities will improve over time, but for now, we’ll work with what we have.

Don’t worry, in the next section, I’ll cover how to track Rumble conversions on Google Analytics (GA4).

Advertiser Statistics

The default report dashboard view covers a broken-down view of the most important campaign KPIs. You can then sort or filter the report by your preferred “group”.

To access the dashboard, go to Advertisers > Statistics on the main menu.

Step 1:

Select your Date Range, Campaign, and Filters (optional), and hit Submit.

Step 2:

Sort your view by your desired metric.

The options are:

  • Clicks
  • CTR (Click-through rate)
  • Spend
  • CPM (Cost per thousand impressions)
  • CPC (Cost per click)

In the example below, I am filtering by clicks and date. You can view in a graph or in a table.

Analyzing Rumble Ads Conversions on GA4

Assuming you already have your GA4 configured and you used UTM parameters when setting up your landers, you can observe your performance on GA4 as well, and more importantly, your conversions.

However, this method is only intended for Lead Generation conversions. I will take a deeper dive in eCommerce & Revenue tracking in the future.

To track lead generation conversions on TRUTH Social, you will need to redirect users to a “/thank-you” page after the user successfully fills out a contact form.

GA4 Reports

The concept is to find your “/thank-you” page on GA4, and then filter by the Session Source/Medium.

This will ultimately demonstrate how many TRUTH or Rumble Ads clicks landed on your website and proceeded to fill out your contact forms.

Here’s how you can do it:

Step 1:

To find your TRUTH & Rumble Ads data in Google Analytics (GA4), go to “Reports”, then “Engagement, and then choose “Pages and screens“.

Step 2:

On the right side of your screen, click the pencil icon to customize the report.

Step 3:

Under Report Filter, click “+ Add filter” and add “First user source/medium”.

Step 4:

Now identify your campaign UTM parameters and check the boxes.

Our UTM source was “Rum” and our mediums were “zn13” and “336-280”.

Step 5:

Find the amount of users that landed on your “thank-you” page and that is the amount of conversions you received from your Rumble or TRUTH Social campaign.
